How to Install the Oculus PC Client on a Custom Drive

By default, the Oculus PC client forces itself onto your C: drive, and the standard installer doesn’t give you an option to change the destination path. Fortunately, there’s a simple workaround. By launching the installer with a specific command-line argument, you can force it to install on any drive you choose. Just make sure your target drive has plenty of space and is formatted as NTFS.

1. Press the Windows key + R to open the “Run” dialog box.

2. Enter the following command structure: [drive]:\Users\(Username)\Downloads\OculusSetup.exe /drive=[new system drive]
Replace [drive] with the drive letter where your OculusSetup.exe file is located.
Replace [new system drive] with the letter of the drive where you want the Oculus client installed.
Examples:
C:\Users\(Username)\Downloads\OculusSetup.exe /drive=D
C:\Users\(Username)\Downloads\OculusSetup.exe /drive:D

In short:

Simply point the command toward the path where your OculusSetup.exe installer is saved, and append /drive=D (where ‘D’ represents your desired destination drive letter) to the end of the path.

3. Click OK.
The Oculus installer will now proceed to install the application on your chosen drive.
